THE AMERICAN SCHOOL|KENYA, AFRICA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

CONCEPT DESIGN FOR THE AMERICAN SCHOOL

For the American School's campus in Kenya, Africa, the client wanted to see the architectural concept, using the environment to help define how classrooms are to be laid out while also providing flexibility. Given the climate, outdoor spaces are featured under a shaded man-made structural element and vegetation, allowing for the blur between indoor and outdoor spaces. Landscape features, structural elements, and furniture groupings help define what is programmable space and what is circulation or secondary space.
