Prior to Dante Sandoli’s engagement with the project, this standard-size Chelsea co-op bathroom was original to when the apartment complex was constructed in the early 1960's. Taking the bathroom down to the masonry and stud walls, the tub was removed and converted into an enclosed shower, complete with wall mounted teak & stainless steel bench, indirectly lit niches, and lit cove ceiling. The glass-surfaced wall mounted sink cabinet and toilet with washlet are separated from the shower with a tiled wing wall in line with the shower entry. Concrete textured plank and mosaic tiles, in warm grey tones, line the bathroom walls and floor, accented with honed black granite thresholds. All bathroom fixtures and accessories are by Boffi, and the sink cabinet is by Scavolini.
